Chiropody is a primary healthcare profession which specializes in the assessment, treatment and prevention of foot disorders. Chiropodists can help children, adults and seniors with a variety of foot problems. In children, early detection of many foot problems (flat feet, in or out toeing) can prevent more serious complications from developing later (knee, hip or low back pain).  The geriatric population can benefit from chiropody service for treatment of painful lesions resulting from the long-term effects of diabetes, rheumatoid osteoarthritis and biomechanical anomalies.
